If you are thinking of a Craigslist proxy, you can get one via two main methods. These being renting or setting up your own. So when should you rent and when should you setup one? If you are posting a lot of ads each day on Craigslist, you should probably consider creating your own server. How many would be considered a lot? Anymore than 50 a day, would be considered heavy and you should look at your own server. Anything less than this should be fine and cost about the same if you rent from someone else. It isn't a topic that is discussed often, but if you post any quantity of ads on Craigslist without using different C class IP ranges you are potentially making it very easy for Craigslist to track your activities.

Their are 4 main ranges for IPs, A B C and D. These ranges are used to identify the network and network ID. Everytime you connect to the internet you are given an IP which identifies you online. This allows companies and other people to more easily identify your activities as even after changing your IP, it has not changed significantly so they are unable to find any similarities or patterns in user activities. Making sure your proxy server has IPs from different C class IP ranges helps to prevent this problem.

As mentioned above, using IPs in the same C class IP range may make it possible for Craigslist to detect your activity even though you could be using several different accounts (since your new IP isn't varied enough from the old one to make you look like a completely different user). This very same concept of using different C class IP ranges applies to proxy servers and is something you should pay great attention to. Typically, IPs that are assigned to proxy servers are normally within the same C class range, try to make sure this is not the case for your proxy server. If you wish to post a lot of ads on Craigslist then remaining anonymous is very important, so make sure your Craigslist Proxy has different C class IP ranges if possible.

The exact number of IPs you should get with your proxy is dependant on a few factors. The first is what kind of budget do you have to spend on your proxy server and secondly what quantity of ads are you lookg to post daily. One way to do this by making text or images on Craigslist clickable via hyperlink. Too easy right? Well, yes and no. I would suggest that you avoid linking straight to your main website. Instead, consider using a disposable site to redirect from. Go from Craigslist to your secondary site and then redirect from your this site to your primary site. Just why do we need to do this? You need to avoid using the same link again and again on Craigslist to prevent a ban. Blacklisted links simply mean ads will more likely than not be ghosted. So, use a secondary site and never direct link to your main site. It is also a good idea to use a few secondary sites. By using a few secondary website addresses, you reduce the chance of Craigslist finding any pattern to your ads. Besides using your own Craigslist proxy, this is just another way that you can increase the amount of traffic, leads and hopefully money that you can generate from Craigslist.

* FAST - Typically, you will find yourself using proxies that are so slow, you feel like jumping out a window. So slow in fact that dialup is faster. Surf around the internet and see how fast sites load up. Don't bother with anything higher than 400ms ping speeds.

Why would one need a Craigslist Proxy one may be thinking.  There are in fact, several reasons behind this and hopefully, today, I will help you to understand the reasons behind using a proxy for the many people that use Craigslist on a daily basis.

Another reason is that Craigslist limits its websites and those who can post to them via geographic location.  While anyone from around the world can browse and read ads on any one of the sites that Craigslist has dedicated to each country, only those with IPs matching the specific country they want to post in are allowed to post.  So, if you live outside of the USA and want to post on Craigslist USA (for good reason as it is the most trafficked Craigslist website on the earth) then you will need an IP from the USA.  It sounds simple, but actually getting an IP from the USA that works and has not already been blacklisted, is harder than you think.
